Sniff sniff SOB!

I'm sad to say that during my mad rush to clean the house before mum arrived on Friday, I tripped on the vacuum cleaner cord and went flying-with my beloved Canon EOS Rebel XT in my hand. I dropped it HARD. And it's broken. It has no autofocus, and if I focus manually the photos are over exposed. I am devastated as it's not really something I can afford to replace, and previous experience with broken cameras has proved to cost more that the camera was worth. So no photos around here right now.

That means no photos of the harvest festival yesterday- and with so many camera ops! A gorgeous old green chevy utility with an enormous pumpkin. Kids making corn dollies and bean wreaths. A lovely old guy who was metal working, another guy carving whales. My spinning gig. Scarecrow making- where Ella made "Captain Ugly" the scarecrow. Unfortunately all marred by rain- I went in and out a few times with all my stuff before I gave up and just threw some plastic over and continued spinning in the rain. But a great day none the less-fun to explain to people what I was doing. I even sold one hat and a skein.

And today we're off to Bear Mt. with Mum and her friend, Colleen, who is also staying. I can't BEAR that I won't have my lovely camera with me. You'll have to look at previous year's trips here and here and here if you need a lovely fall/October fest visual fix.
