The Bear went over the mountain

Well, we went to Bear Mt to see what we could see.
Like the Palisades on the Hudson River while crossing the Tappenzee Bridge.

The splashes of intense fall colours driving up the parkway.

And this photo was supposed to replicate this photo taken nearly exactly 2 years ago. I had to play around with it as it was so dark in the shade.
But looking back to those photos taken at the same time 2 years ago, there was so much more colour this time.

(they are Turkey vultures circling on thermals up there)

Isn't this lake gorgeous? We found these amazing BBQs...this one looks like a pokemon to me, but maybe it's supposed to be a pig.here it is from the back. And an Owl.We had lunch while listening to the German Polka band-bratwurst, knockwurst, potato pancakes, and waffles. Mmm mm good. We were clever this year and got a table in the sun and food before the lines became too long. Me and Ella.
The kids were getting a little *bored* so we had a "friendly" family game of slaps (last time I played with the kids I broke my finger hitting the wall.) Then a walk around the lake was needed to get all that food down. Matt and I walked, the kids just climbed all the rocks they could find. And there's some good ones. Then it was time for a roll down the hill or a rest in the sunAnd one ride of the carousel ...Before we drove home again...that's NYC in the distance.
What a great day. Hope you had a good weekend.

Trying to work out where Bear Mt actually is? NY State or Connecticut? Looks gorgeous anyway, so my next trip I'm requesting an excursion there! Mum xx

But it couldn't have been as much fun... not meeting anybody who had arrived by boat from 42nd Street.
Did you bring those coloured leaves with you?
