Mural update

With only 9 more days of school left, we are STILL working on the mural.  Chipping away at it little by little, but we may need a big concerted push next week to get us to where we need to be.

This evening, after we were all packed up, I took pictures of every single panel.  This thing is massive!

So, let's start at the very beginning (it's a very good place to start)... with the original mural.

As we wrap around this corner, we come a part of the mural done by 2nd graders as part of their community service project for the year.  Obviously they are quite short and only had a morning, so we are still finishing that bit off for them.

right, and back to the main part again...
Each of these is a panel, and in between are "arches" that people walk through.
 Up above are people's apartments.

Then there's a big gap between one apartment block and another with a driveway in between...and then we start up again, this time with some designs made by the residents.

And the only panel that has been finished since the beginning....one family worked on this together.
 Some more 2nd graders work...
The doorway here leads into a little pre school...

And back around to my favourite part of the mural...even though it STILL needs A LOT of work.

And there you have it.  As I said, MASSIVE.  And the organisation we are working with is already trying to find us another place to do another mural when we come back to school in August!
