The craft fair today was quite successful for me (much better than the one I did last year, even though, once again, I had a table at the back). I actually had a really fun day. Kit and Ella volunteered for 4 hours helping the little kids with buying their secret santa gifts for their parents. They had to wear their sports uniforms and antlers for the day (Saturday).
At the end of the day, friends of mine helped us pack up and offered us a lift home. As we were leaving, my friend said to me that she wished she was a visiting artist to the school as they did such nice posters. I looked up and along the 4 huge posters hanging there about to agree with her, when my eyes lighted on the last poster and I let out a scream of "THAT'S MY NEIGHBOUR!!!"
Yes, our very good friend and wonderful neighbour in Vermont, known very affectionately to us as "Swinny". He's a children's book author and as soon as he knew we were moving out here started asking questions about how he could come out as a visiting author (he already travels around the US doing so). I knew he had been offered a few days at Kit and Ella's school, but I didn't know for sure that he was coming until I saw this FABULOUS poster. And yes, of course we had to have a photo once we'd calmed down a bit. It's actually very exciting for us.
(And if you missed the photos from Kit and Ella's play, check out the last post before this one)

Just a question...how different from last year were the customers this year? I am very pleased that you find visiting artists so exciting, as one should.
