A cake of course

I had grand plans of making a TARDIS cake for Oscar. But I had no blue food colouring, and even a trip to the supermarket didn't help. So I went for yummy. Chocolate cake with raspberry/rhubarb/peach/apple filling (I made this yesterday when I baked a pie and had some left over) with cream, chocolate icing with white chocolate. Ella made some of Oscar's favourite things from Marzipan: a CD, an ipod, a rugby ball and a sonic screwdriver. Of course, I was rushing to get it done as Oscar only had a half day due to exams, and the cake hadn't quite cooled when I put it together, so we had a lot of oozing out from the middle. Not the prettiest cake I've ever made, but DELICIOUS!

And Ella (who has been sick at home the last two days with coxsackie) was happy to give her big brother some birthday love...
