Sewing frenzy

I just love the fabrics of Amy Butler, particularly the Lotus collection
Last week I sewed this skirt. I copied shape from my thrift shop skirt and I'm really happy with it.

Then yesterday, before we had friends around, I whipped up this little curtain for the loo. The previous curtain had a rip in it where one of the cats had tried to jump up to the window.
I would have loved to have made myself another skirt with this fabric, but I didn't have enough.
I had just enough, though, to make this little skirt for Ella using the same basic design.

And because I love them so much, I had to use up the scraps into a pretty little cushion.

We had a busy weekend. Friday was more rain, but we took the kids out to dinner to celebrate Remi's success with his math summer school. He's into the advanced math course this year. Saturday we had Kit's teacher's wedding (I left my camera at home! Kit looked so spiffy) and then we swam and BBQed with friends (the weather was lovely again). Sunday the heavens opened yet again, and we had to change our plans from having friends over for a BBQ, to having indoor Paella. Still fun-it's always a fun night when everyone ends up playing rock band together! Sunny again today. Oscar's theory is it's one day nice, one day rainy...I'll have to check the weather carefully as we want to try and get into the city one day this week. For now I'm quite happy sewing-as long as I have the fan on me full blast!

  1. The weather sounds lovely and warm, and the rain is good for the garden! Tasmania is much more consistent - cold, gale force winds and rtain, rain. (Well an occasional sunny day) Very nice fabric, and tell Ella she looks really cute.
