Sewing summer

June has been dismal-besides illness and hospital visits.  The weather has been positively English.  Grey, drizzzle, rain and coolish temps.  Not at all what we are used to in the lead up to the summer holidays starting next week.

So in response to this I have been sewing up a bit of summer-for Remi's room at least.  I wanted to do a quilt for him and totally fell in love with these fabrics that I found, so he got a pillow case and a cushion cover too.

Very PB teen, I know-but not totally Californian with the Australian flag in the background.
The quilt is actually not finished.  I'm still quilting it (14 squares to go!) and then it needs binding and washing-BUT I wanted to share it.

And while I have been working away on my machine, I have been listening to this  amazing singer; Lisa Hannigan.
It's been a long time since I've heard a female singer that I can really get into.  For some reason all my playlists these days are males.  I discovered her a few weeks ago and I love this song and suddenly she's popping up everywhere -she was interviewed on the radio this morning. And you have to love the cover of her album

  2. Honestly Annette, it's like winter here too. Very much reminds me of winter in Sydney (except wetter than it's been lately). I took Matt to the train this morning in fleecy pants, hoodie, raincoat and gumboots (it was early and I wasn't getting out of the car). NOT usual June weather. We've had rain 14 out of 17 days of June. And colder than usual too. Very depressing.
