That's right! This weekend marked the beginning of summer (unofficially), and while the weather wasn't great Saturday and Sunday, today was lovely. BRING IT ON!
I finally took a photo of these gorgeously unusual pansies growing in my garden. The colours are amazing. I am so lucky to have loads of different coloured pansies popping up all over the garden-not sure if the results of seeds I scattered this year, or they have self seeded from last year, but there appears to be many more colours than I had last year.
And this weekend we got our new car. So we have to say goodbye to Subi the Subaru (my first car really and lovely to drive, but just too small for us now)...
And say hello to our new Toyota Sienna (isn't it a lovely colour?) which has LOADS more room. Hello to the world of minivans!
We spent time out in the garden watching it come back to life-taking on it's summer glow.
The boys (or should I say "the rad dudes"?) decided to make themselves a skateboard ramp (and, ah NO, they can't really skateboard). Oscar really can't and won't skateboard, so he became chief engineer and ramp builder.
Remi reassured me that he was all kitted up in safety pads. Actually they could only find 3 wrist guards, so I made Remi wear one on his right hand and Kit wear both. Seeing as Kit has a solo in the ballet concert next Saturday he's not allowed to break anything-Remi can break his left arm...Ella had her friend, Shelby, over to work on their Ronald Reagan project, but they quickly lost interest...
Oscar supervised (and took photos)
Ella and Shelby watched from the peanut gallery
And neither Remi or Kit were hurt....
Although Kit broke the lamp. It must have been that the 2 of them found 3 four leaf clovers in our yard yesterday. I'm serious! I thought they were a myth. I spent a vast amount of time in my childhood looking for one. Kit, of course, is trying to work out a way of making money out of them....
What a beautiful, sunny post with fun, pretty trees, a storybook house, and a shiny new car! A stark contrast, particularly in colours, to your winter photos of a few months back. The memory makes me go brrr!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks lovely - glad all the limbs are intact -what would the ballet school do without it's male star? I'm feeling sorry for Ella and Shelby - a Ronald Reagan project???
ReplyDeleteCan you take a close up of the 4 leaf clover as i don't think i've ever seen one. I hope the new vehicle can fit a family of 6 and a stray nanny as well.
Hi George - after viewing your garden thought I should share a website I discovered by accident today - The Lost Gardens of Heligan www.heligan.com . I think Rem may enjoy it too.
