My morning

Hello, it's a lovely morning this morning.  AND it's FRIDAY; Friday of a long weekend.

Every morning I get up around 6:30 (6:31 if my alarm goes off, but usually I'm up earlier than that because Matt gets up at 6 to ride).  I wake up Oscar (Remi gets up at 6:15, has a shower and takes Honey out) then go downstairs and make 5 lunches.  This usually takes me through to about 7-when Oscar leaves.  Then I wake up Kit and Ella and then I have maybe 15 minutes to have a cuppa tea and read my emails and blogs.  I get very disappointed when there's no exciting emails and no blog updates, as that is my time in the morning. That's why I'm updating my blog this morning-there wasn't much to read. Then Remi leaves.

Then it's shower, dressed, do Ella's hair, get the kids organised and off to school-Friday means I have to drop them up there as Kit has his drum kit.  Then I have to drop Matt to work and I'm home again by about 8:30 (unless I have somewhere to be by 9).

What's your morning routine?  Do you have to check your emails first thing?  Can you remember a time WITHOUT email?  What did we get excited about-checking the letter box!? (although I still love to see what's in the mail everyday).

Have a great day and a better weekend!

  1. I am obsessed with checking my emails and blogroll! I get up about 5.30, and check them all while I eat breakfast. It takes about 45 minutes to read everything and follow links, but it is a great inspiration to me to read about everyone's lives and artistic creations. By the way, I'm loving your paintings, especially Meditation 3. I'm planning to post each day this week, so pop on over to my blog - there will be heaps to read! (Plus, there are always new posts on my blogroll for you to follow, if you wish. You're on there, too!)

  3. Yes i am one of those who check my email every morning and cant wait to see what you all think of my most recent blog entries....but i do it after we get back from walking Beattie everyday(except if it is raining of course)... doesn't the time fly when you are sitting at the computer visiting everyone elses lives??? and yes i can remember the time we didn't have emails and blogrolls to check and catchup...we also had less mechanical aids so we did more with our day than we do now... and i definately think we had more time back then...especially when somthing goes wrong with the internet and it takes half the day to download your new blog entry!!!!!we might be able to bring the world to our homes but we cannot make more time in the day!!!

  4. I get up about 7am - have been a slacker lately and not gone walking first thing - but usually have a shower & do 15 mins yoga before I have something to eat. Then feeling good and relaxed and as much as I tell myself it's not essential (well, sometimes I HAVE to send an important work thing off) I usually turn my computer on in case something REALLY important comes in that I can't live without knowing for the day!

Missed seeing this blog Sunday as for once I slept in til 10am and got stuck into the garden as soon I arose!

Thgis morning I'm sending my pay claim in for Festival of Voices before I head off to my other job- now, that's a good reason for turning on the computer!

  5. I get woken by Rowan about 6/6.30am then I lye on the floor in front of the heater for a bit, feed Rowan if she is cranky and just fade in and out of sleep till I hear the alarm at 7.30am! Then its girls up, breakfast, make lunches, get the kids out the door to school. Once Im home I get Hattie breakfast, put on a DVD for the 2 little ones and get on the treadmill for 45 mins. Soon as im done I put Rowan in bed for her morning nap THEN I get on the computer with Hattie on the computer next to me......
