What's for dinner???

Those of you who know me well, know that I'm not a huge fan of the dinner cooking.  I have always had a fairly small repatoire (hindered by: the fact I don't really like fish, although I'm getting better; and Remi doesn't eat poultry).  But what I hate the most is THINKING about what I'm going to cook for dinner-all the planning.  Working out what I can cook with what we have and whether or not I have to go to the shop AGAIN to get something.

So, who wants to play "what's for dinner?" with me.  I have found that even my stock standard, to me, boring meals are interesting to other people.  And I find I get a lot of inspiration talking to other people about what they cook-they're standard throw it together on a busy school night kind of meals.  So for the rest of the week I'm going to be telling you all what I'm cooking for dinner, and if you want to play along too, you can tell me what you're having.  If it's a favourite recipe, I'd be thrilled if you shared, although I'm not a great recipe reader and like to just get the gist of a recipe.

So tonight we had (I only thought of this while cooking dinner and was playing taxi half that time anyway) a standard of mine: risotto.  I used up some chicken that Matt had BBQed on the weekend and celery, capsicum, frozen peas and frozen beans. [ We had left over yummy Paella that Matt cooked on the weekend for Remi to eat.]  So please share...I'd love to hear what's for dinner?

  1. It being Wednesday it will be Pizza from our pizza shop next door, particularly given that John, the Pizza maker bought two originals of mine this week, that boy has such taste, and his pizzas are good... but for lunch I will be finishing off the remaining chicken sausage rolls I made for last night's tea, they were my secret recipe of course...beautiful.

We had risotto too - ham, broccoli, capsicum, mushies and lots of parmesan! Usually on Weds we have pancakes but our chooks are not laying well at the mo. and I keep making cakes and biccies so none left for pancakes

  3. This week we've given up dairy, red meat, fatty, sugary, spicy and acidic foods!!! So, this whole dinner thing has become very difficult! We're pretty much eating bread and vegetables. But we feel 100% better!
