Then I had the art show and cubscouts, so it was my old stock standard, can cook it with my eyes closed, spaghetti bolagnase. Kit had been asking for it for ages anyway. And for Ella who hadn't really eaten anything all day, I made jelly/jello with some frozen berries in it and so tinned peaches-the kids were pleased as they got some for desert as well. Tomorrow is Pizza night-I don't get home from gymnastics until 6:30, so we always jazz up some frozen cheese pizzas with ham and pineapple for the kids and olives, artichoke, mushrooms and rocket for Matt and I. So nice not to have to cook for 3 nights (Matt cooks on the weekend). We have lots of sport on this weekend, and the weather is supposed to be HOT and SUNNY (27C and 29C), so I may even get back out into the garden after our week of rain. Have a great weekend!
Pleased to see Spag Bol is still a part of your lives...an important part, here, schnitzel last night, possibly fabulous chicken and mushroom pies, if not spare ribs etc tonight to celebrate the rain, which is still sort of falling from time to time.
ReplyDeleteDad, of course, that Spag Bol affeciando however it is spelt from way back
I realised when we got back to Australia there arent as many good frozen pizza options in the supermarket as the US! LAst night we had fish and chips requested by HAttie.... she wanted shop but we had homemade.... salmon sprinkled with sumak and potato wedges. It was good!!!
ReplyDeleteI totally know how you feel about having a few days off. I've had 2 Homestay students for weeks now and have to plan menus, shop and cook every night!!! I spend hours standing in the kitchen cooking - how do all you mothers cope? I usually live on the single person's diet of one pot of soup for days. But I've just been away for a yoga retreat ALL weekend and apart from the beautiful setting, wonderful yoga and relaxation sessions, walks in the bush, feeling blissed and general blobbing out, we were waited on hand and foot with delicious vegetarian dishes all weekend!!! Not a sausage in sight and it was great! Ohh bliss...I'm soo relaxed...
ReplyDeleteI hope you are helping Billy with his yacht...and don't forget to remind him,if he needs a drummer....
