Update

I probably shouldn't have posted yesterday in the mood that I was in. I spiralled into a terrible depression about the stupid house and the stupid market and had a really crummy day. And the snow turned to rain and went yuk and slushy.

But on the positive side, the pipes were fixed and they put in expandable pipes. The landlord FINALLY listened to me about not getting any heat in the kitchen/bathroom downstairs (I've been telling him this for 2 1/2 years) and has had someone in to look at the ducting (which is totally ripped in half) and will be repairing it. So that at least is a bonus. Hopefully when we get heat again we won't get burst pipes again.

And as Matt pointed out to me (after I emailed him other houses for rent) we have 8 months left on our lease so we just have to deal with it.

Dad really enjoyed yesterday's blog, he thought it made being at the computer in 44 degrees yet again quite bearable, sort of.

Oh, you poor thing, but at least something is happening now! I've come back to the opposite - a poor burned out garden from the heat & many dead and alive scorpians in the house. mumxx

  4. ahh George, that sucks, but great he is doing something. I too adore that house, such a brilliant spot. Enjoy your last 8 months there and happy house hunting!

  5. I guess you can look at the other side of the coin...you could have bought the place and it could be you paying for the repairs and not the slack landlord hey????? But i am with all the other comments...it sure does suck and especially having to clean it up when it is so cold... happy house hunting in eight months.
