5 things

Tagged by Chels :

10 years ago:
July/August 1998. We were living in Sydney. I had 2 little boys, 4 and 2 years old. I'd just decided I was going to finish up working with my part time job as I felt like I wasn't spending enough time with the boys. I was also studying part time a diploma of remedial massage (and loving it). We were enrolling Oscar to start school at the local kindergarten in Artarmon in Sydney. We had a black cat called Houdini. I think it was only about 3 months later that our lives changed forever when Matt applied for and got a job in Singapore.

July/August 2003. We were living in Queens, NY. I had 4 children, 9, 7, 4 and 3 years old. Chelsea and the family were staying with us for a few weeks before moving up to Ithaca. There was the big NY black out where we were without electricity for 2 days. I was studying pottery on Saturday mornings and loving it. Kit was about to start school. We had a grey cat called Smokey.

5 months ago: February this year...It was "our" month; my birthday, Matt's birthday, our 15th wedding anniversary. We went skiiing in Vermont (at least everyone else did, I woosed out) and had so much fun in the snow. When we drove back we found it had snowed here too-the first and only big dump for the winter. We have a dog called Honey. She is the happiest dog in the world in the snow.

5 things on my to do list for tomorrow:
-take Remi to sit his test to try and get into advanced Maths.
-chiropractors appointments for Oscar and me.
(It's summer, do I really have to come up with 5???)
-Take the kids to see the new Mummy movie that comes out tomorrow
-pay bills
-it wouldn't hurt to do a little tidying up...

5 bad habits:
-shouting at the children
-talking to myself
-having an aversion to housework
-having an addiction to sugar
-swearing

5 places I have lived: (other than the place I grew up in-Tasmania, Australia)
-Drammen, Norway
-Sydney, Australia
-Singapore, Singapore
-New York, USA
-Connecticut, USA

5 things people don't know about me:
-I love being able to pull out the kids' loose teeth
-I rub my feet togther every night when I go to sleep
-I hate the whole tipping thing and get really stressed out going to get nails done/hair cuts etc here because I never know how much/when/to whom etc...to the point where...
-I cut my own hair (or at least have the last 3 times)
-I used to do Gymnastics and while I was never very good at it, I can still do handstands, cartwheels, bend backs and on a trampoline, front and back sommersaults (although it scares the knickers off me)

And I'm going to add one;

5 things that make me happy:
-when people tell me how great the kids are (been hearing a lot of that lately from all over the place)
-getting a parcel in the mail, especially if it's unexpected
-running around outside playing stupid games with the kids and Matt
-finishing something I've made all by myself
-going on an airplane, either to move or for a holiday. Even in cattle class it always feels like such and adventure to me
