my mini boden catalogue and my 25 cent embroidery hoop, I decided to have a go at appliqueing some t-shirts for the kids today. I must emphasise that I am not COPYING the designs, merely getting some inspiration. The designs are all my own. Here's my first attempt:
Unfortunately I have been slowed down this week by a pulled tendon in my wrist (not quite sure how it happened). So most of the week I've had to wear this wrist band and it makes EVERYTHING I do harder (including typing this).
Lyn, that's why your birthday present will be a little late too.
Fortunately it was a lovely day to sit in the sun and do some slow sewing.
So nice in fact that we were able to eat out again, although it cools off quite a bit when the sun goes down. The plus side: we just rev up the fire and cook marshmallows...
You know it's been a good day when your feet are this dirty at the end of it...
And the pets are all tired out at the end of the day...
Honey bunny...yes, I have forgiven her. How could you stay angry with that face?
My lovely silky Leila.
And Darby, this one is for you...
Lilly in particular, but both the cats, likes to climb up under this cabinet and into the drawer at the back. When we can't find them anywhere, we pull out this drawer and there they are sound asleep.
Ella adores this kitten and carries her around like a baby.
The weather is supposed to cool off over the next week. Probably just as well or the kids wouldn't want to go back to school on Tuesday.
Georgia, have you been advised to rest the wrist? (joke!) Veggie patch will have to wait! I think we're going to Annapurna next Saturday night for a double birthday celebration (Jack's birthday Sat) Love being able to recognise the background in the BBQ picture. It's such a nice setting there to eat outside.

But why did you leave out King and Flinders Island...and Bruny!
ReplyDeleteWhat sort of Tasmanian would leave off Bruny...or perhaps when your hand gets better the important detail will be added.
Next you'll be asking me to embroider the Tasmanian national anthem on the back of the T-shirt, Dad!
