Thin Ice

Winter the hamster has been settling in very well. She is such a cute little thing and we all LOVE her. She's also very easy for the kids to handle.

The REAL winter has made a bit of a show this week too, with temps down to -11 deg C (12 F) yesterday and not going above freezing all day. Today is much milder starting at -8 this morning and we may (and I have to say this very quietly so I don't scare it away) get some snow tonight.

I took advantage of the milder weather this morning to take some photos of ice out on the pond. While I was out there, I could hear it cracking. Fantastic. It's only very thin, and the tide has since rushed in and washed it all away.

I hope you've got some good heating now with the arrival of the ice...
