Tomorrow marks the 6th month anniversary since we arrived back in the states. It is a milestone and it really astounds me that time can go so quickly. Ella has now spent as much time at school here as she did in Australia. It didn't stop her from tears today. She misses her "best friend in the whole wide world" who hasn't been in contact with her since we left. I tried to explain to her that that is what happens...our friends we leave behind don't miss us as much as we miss them.
We also watched some old home videos of the kids tonight. It astounds me how we have gone from having a family of 4 kids under 7 years of age to a family of 4 kids over 6 years of age in what seems like the blink of an eye. I want them all to go back to being small and cute. All their little mannerisms they had...all their catch phrases. They also got all their baby books out and wanted to know their first words and for me to read the journaling about them. I'm glad I've done all that, and makes me think I need to get their albums up to date...could be a task for the rest of January....
And I spent all yesterday sewing...we've signed up for a mini swap and we are pleased to be making lots of things for our new friends (which I can't show or it will spoil the suprise). But it all included a sewing lesson for Ella and lots of input from the rest of them.
Today I spent the day finishing Pride and Prejudice. Only the second book I've finished in the complete works of Jane Austin which I got for Xmas and have been making my way through. I have to read it with quiet, though, as I really have to concentrate...and as there is not much quiet around this house I tend to read it at night. I now feel like a break from Austin for a while and was really looking forward to reading The Thirteenth Tale that Oscar got for Xmas but he left it at school. I hate it when I don't have a book lined up to read next...it's like trying to find something to knit! I may have to go to the book shop tomorrow to see what I can find....
Poor little Ella - I hope she can contact her little friend (Lauren?)

Your miniswap pal!
I hope you have finished and enjoyed immensely of course the book your Dad gave you via Amazon. But I haven't heard or seen any comments on that.
