Fluffy

Fluffy, as this blanket has come to be called, is finished. I could have made it wider, but I was just getting a bit bored with it. And I was getting sick of the stitches being pulled off as the kids kept trying to snuggle under it while I was knitting. I actually knitted it as horizontal stripes; it just was very wide. I like the fact that the stripes now look vertical. It is SUPER warm (kept getting hot legs when I was knitting-when the kids weren't stealing it). And yes, guitars do get to sit on the couch in our house...drives me nuts.

Finally some cold yesterday and today...-7 when I got up and the pond was partly frozen. It's up to -2 now. Yesterday it didn't get over 1 degree, but no snow here...although I was appauled to see snow in Manhatten on the news. Where was ours?

I was supposed to be going into the library at school today to help. I'm down to do 2 days a month, but I've never made it in as ALL the other times one of the 4 kids has been sick. Today they called me (just as I was kitting myself up to walk up to school) to tell me they don't need me. It's obviously not meant to be.

You have lived a fair portion of your like with guitars being allowed to sit on couches, and there is nothing wrong with that at all, drums also should be allowed as well, flutes, etc and of course dogs should actually be given preference...that is what couches are for, people can sit on chairs, oh well yes, dogs should be allowed to sit on chairs if they want to.

The rug looks beautiful and I love the comment about the kids trying to snuggle under it and pulling the stitches off! Good luck with the snow! My Swiss student Nicole tells me that it's been 12-14C there!!

All I can say about the instruments on couches is that it sounds a bit precarious to me and as for dogs, well, where do the poor owners sit?? Not as bad as a friend of mine Leigh, a vet, whose chooks apparently come into the house and sit on the couch! Where are the dogs?

Nice photo. Shame you obscured the other great piece of craft (the Gibson SG).
