My project

While I am waiting for it to finish drying I thought I would give an update on my project.

Yesterday my bits for making the canvas arrived in the post so I put together my first ever canvas (it's 48 inches by 48 inches) and painted it for hours. I'm actually really happy with it...Matt came home and asked me why I was painting somebody's bum hole...and then back tracked and said he didn't understand art. But I wasn't too crushed as Kit's friend had been over and when his mum arrived she said she loved it. They collect art and she even asked if I would be able to do something for her...

So here are the two pieces put together and drying under layers of pva glue. This is the scary bit, and I have to trust that the glue will dry clear (it always does) and that the paper circle will stick to the canvas. I'm so scared that I can't watch it dry. I've had to take myself off and do other things.

I must say it's been really good to paint again. I did a painting for Ella over the last week too...all pinks and purple paisleys. She kept saying to Kit "look how girlie it is. You have to have this girlie painting in our room." To which Kit replied "I don't care, I think it's really cool." And now that I know how cheap and easy (only took me 2 hours) it is to make my own canvases, I may be doing more of it.

Oh, and Mum, I didn't use the paper you sent me in this big painting, but I did make another little thing to hang on the wall that featured it with some Korean writing paper.
