The finished product
So here it is. The glue on the back of the circle is still drying really, but I'm really happy with it. It's just what I wanted for that space. I haven't hung it yet, but it will go right behind that couch that the lovely Kit is lounging all over. And for those of you like my darling husband who don't know "what" it is, it's an Asian inspired piece to go with our very Asian inspired loungeroom. It's supposed to be like a Chinese coin, I just love how the paper tiles create movement and colour. And I love being able to use all my gorgeous papers in a big piece like this.

It is FANTASTIC... I love the colours so much and I bet secretly Matt thinks its fabulous!!!! I want to run my hand all over it!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Chelsea! I love the sheer size of it too. I hope Kit's friend's mum is impressed. You seemed to produce this very quickly - in a matter of days!
ReplyDeleteActually i meant to say that i loved the background canvas because it reminded me of a swirling part of the universe - what are those things called?
ReplyDeleteMy mind is obviously in a higher plane than Matt's.
The painting only took a night and a few more hours the next day. The paper tiles took the best part of a week to make...
ReplyDeleteAnd Matt declared last night that he thought it looked better without the paper tiles...so he'd come around to it. But I love it actually. It's much darker than I had intended, but it fits well with this room...and takes away from all the WHITE WALLS!
Nebula! that's what it reminded me of! Perhaps you can do another one now, if Matt's keen on the abstract stuff!
