Jack Frost

Our first sub zero morning this morning. We've been down to zero, but this morning it was -3 (Celsius of course). It is so dark when we get up (daylight saving finishes this weekend) and I watch the sunrise through the kichen window as I am frantically making lunches. I went out to try and take a photo this morning of the silvery frost with the golden hues of the sun rise. But it was too hard to get both... so here they are separately. At the bus stop this morning the kids were having fun crunching through the frost and Ella kept finding leaves covered with beautiful frost crystals that she wanted me to bring in and put in the freezer for her (but I didn't want to take my hands out of my mittens!) So now I am fortifying myself with a quick cup of tea before I have to walk up to school to do readers workshop for Kit's class.

Lovely pics. Wow, you'll have to rug up soon for the snow. It's been similar in Tassie - we went from 25C on Thursday - beautiful day to 5 C yesterday (Friday) afternoon and snowing when I got home at 6.30pm. I awoke to snow on the car still this morning. Needless to say, Pinkle (Georgia's black streak cat ) refuses to go outside today!
