Frustration

I have been missing all my art/craft supplies so much since the kids started school. I have very limited supplies here and I tend to spend my day doodling in my art journal. I'm desperate to do something. I really want to paint. So last night I came up with this:

It's made from tiny ripped up pieces from a pottery barn catalogue (something I have lots of) glued down. It satisfied the need to create quite well and I am quite happy with it even though it looks like a highschool art project.

It even inspired me enough to make a card for my neighbours who brought me back a few gifts from their trip to the UK:

I'm quite happy with this as it is made from BASIC things...construction paper, ripped up pottery barn catalogue, printed photos I took of our shed in our yard, textas and pencils... Not my usual style, but I like it.

And one more photo just to show I'm not the only one in our house who feels the need to create:

I mentioned that Ella kept all the bits from our Ikea purchases (it drives me crazy as it takes up so much space in her cupboard). Well I found this the other day when putting away clothes in her room. Isn't it gorgeous? And I have to say that I raided her stash of stuff this morning to find construction paper. I think she and I should share a room!
