knit'n mittens
So, I have found something to occupy me-the gorgeous thick Icelantic wool I ordered came yesterday and of course I got STRAIGHT into it and have done very little else! I found this pattern for mittens online the other day, and while I only have 1 pair of knitting needles here (grandma Mel's) and they are not quite right, I HAD to start. It is soooo thick; almost like an oven mitt! I have yet to knit the other one, but my hands probably need a rest for a few hours.
I actually had quite a creative day yesterday and it made me realise that when I'm making things I feel in tune; like when you hit a ball just right, or when you tune an instrument. My soul just sings and I feel fantastic. I loose all perspective of time and space (not the best thing for a mother who has housework to do). And I kind of gather steam a bit...the more I do, the more I want to do. So even though I have another mitten to knit (and probably more as I got quite a bit of wool) other projects are popping into my head! Ah it feels so good!

oh wow, thast super gorgeous! I wish I coudl knit but I cant! You have a real knack at doing the coolest designs. I have seen nothing daggy come out of your needles!!!
ReplyDeleteVery tricky the way two photos makes it look as though you have actually knitted a pair. If you hadn't told us I am sure we would have thought it was a pair. And when you take two photos of the other one well obviously you will have knitted two pairs.
