And now for the bad news....

We are without hot water!!! Our oil was supposed to be replaced before we moved in, but it has run out already...waiting to hear back from the company to sign up an account so we can get some more oil. So we are all stinky today. Added to that, we have been without a dishwasher since the beginning of the month. I can deal with that (although the landlord should have replaced it by now) except that now we have no hot water either. So I have to keep the kettle continuously on the stove to do the dishes. Pretty primative stuff.

And the other bad news...not sure if I mentioned the fact that my favourite Mermaid lamp which I made a few years ago in NY got totally smashed to pieces...here's what I saw when we unpacked the box:

    Oh dear George, I'd be happy to bring my mermaid pot over to you (carry it on as hand luggage if they'd let me, but they might think it's a weapon). However it doesn't have a hole in the bottom, so maybe it wouldn't work.
