The other side of our first week

So, we've made it through a week. School started yesterday, which left me and Oscar with some time to get out of the apartment together. We went to Mustafa's: the store that sells everything. Mainly to buy coat hangers and goggles (I know, exciting right?), and to look around Little India and have a fantastic Indian lunch.

Here's Ella down at Clarke Quay last week when we went to have our meeting at the ministry of (magic) manpower to get Matt's work visa last Friday.

That's Kit in the background. We sent Kit and Ella off for a wander while we sat down. Mainly so we wouldn't have to listen to them argue.

And here's the 3 of them waiting for their respective busses across the road from where we are staying. (Kit and Remi are awake, but both happened to blink when I took the photo and they would only let me take one). Kit and Ella were convinced to start off by taking the bus, and that maybe they can take the MRT when we move into a place. And I am relieved as it means less running around for me. Although their bus didn't get back until 5pm (30 minutes late) last night even though school finished at 3:45. A long day for them as they used to roll in the door at 3 in CT.

Today Oscar and I are going off to look at a house. I just want to start to have a look and see what's out there, even though we won't need to move into a place until October. As much as I am glad to have the kids out of the apartment, I do feel a bit like I don't have much to do. The last 4 months have been so frantic, and now, although I have things to do, it's at a different pace. I keep wanting to pick up something to knit or crochet, to draw or what ever. Part of the problem is that nothing here opens before 10 or 11 (except for Mustafa's which is open 24 hrs), so I feel a bit like once the kids are out the door I am waiting.... I do have plans to use the gym in the morning, but the combination of living in air-conditioning, swimming and being in a new place have meant that I have got a bit sick. Everything in good time...
