snow days and mullets

Downloading photos today of the snow (yes, more snow) and found these I took of Kit last week. We were half way through a long overdue hair cut and I stopped- just to see how he'd look with a mullet.

He was rocking it! And as much as Matt tried to convince him to keep it, I made quick work of it with the buzzer and he has a perfectly respectable (and boring) hair cut again.

And here's the snow. The kids had the day off today after nearly 2 (more) feet of snow fell last night. Typical that the year we buy a house up in the snow that we get so much down here.
A perfect day for baking cookies...

And digging out the car. Even Honey had trouble bounding through the soft snow.

Unfortunately, most of our snow gear is up north, so the kids weren't really able to get out and play in the snow. Even with 2 pairs of socks and gumboots, feet get really cold.
I did love how our snowmen (papier mached wine bottles made years ago with the kids and brought out every winter) ended up with little snow hats and snow neck warmers. And I can't complain about the snow as I had a lovely sleep in and quite day (the gym didn't open all day!). And we've just heard that they're on 90 minute delay tomorrow morning as well. Crazy as the boys were supposed to start their exams today and they keep getting put back. I think now they will start on Friday- right before our 3 day weekend this weekend.

  1. Terrific white stuff. I have to say that I'm glad the mullet went as I don't like them and someone was telling me Australia was trying to make them illegal!!@#$# Can't imagine that, but they do have a bogan connotation here.

Got the pressies - yay!! gorgeous home-made stuff - shhhh won't say anything else in case others haven't got theirs yet!

  2. Good to have you back and blogging... says she who hasn't blogged for yonks. Doesn't the outdoor dining setting look elegant. I'm intrigued that there is no snow on the chair arms because that was a bit of a feature last winter, as I recall. Hasn't stopped raining for 4 days here. Dogs are very bored with Steve away. It's still very warm - I find it quite exhilarating actually.
