Yesterday it did snow. The kids went to school for two hours (hardly seemed worth it really), and then we ummed and ahhed about whether or not to do VT this weekend. In the end we decided not to. The boys had a wrestling meet they really wanted to go to this weekend (Oscar had 4 wins this week). So Remi went off to a friend's house and the other three and I had a lovely lazy day watching a Merlin marathon on TV (me catching up on some blanket crocheting). And I have to say, once the decision was made, that I was really happy to be spending some time at home other than the crazy rush that is the school week.
It also gave us the chance to try some princess hair styles on Ella, who, it has to be said, has perfect princess hair.
Then, this morning when I woke up and looked out the window, the sky was ablaze with bright red light. It was startling. But even by the time I'd found the camera, put on boots and a jacket, the light had started to fade. I had never seen such a red sky.Now how does it go? Red sky at night, shepherd's delight. Red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning. I suspect we may get some more snow today...
Just googled the saying and it said the meaning is nonsense and has no bearing on the weather. The words are sometimes shepherds and sometimes sailors.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are gorgeous, as it Ella's hair. I like the idea of my grandaughter being a princess, so perhaps she could find a prince to marry, like Princess Mary.
The morning here is calm and sunny, after a torrential downpour last night. the garden is loving it!
lots of love to all mum xxx
Yes I like the princess hair too - very Mists of Avalon. I have read something recently about the origin of Red Sky at night... but for the life of me I can't remember.
