It's oh so cold. It's oh so crowded; you have to line up outside to get into some shops and then when you get inside you can't move...
But it's so much fun.
That's Oscar shoulder riding the birthday girl.
The world's stupidest pigeon. We had to take our lunch outside to eat as there was no seating, and even though I was having a hot burger, my hands were numb with the cold by the end of it. And there was that pigeon sitting in the WATER waiting to swoop down on any crumbs we left.
I love that the kids still want to climb on the rocks in Central Park. These ones were always Oscar and Remi's favourites when we lived in New York.
This squirrel must be the king of Central Park- he's got people lining up to feed him.
A quick stop outside the zoo to watch the sea lions
We kept trying to find any feeble bit of sunlight that we could. Did I mention it was cold? Not as cold as when I went in on Wednesday, but we were fooled by the sun in CT before we left and all of us were underdressed.
We found this lovely heated atrium at the bottom of trump towers to have a little warm up.
Look, we're on TV.
Feeling much more Christmassy after that trip. Matt, Kit and Ella and I are off to the local nutcracker production today (the one Kit and Ella have been in in previous years), while Oscar and Remi are off Christmas shopping. Ella's sticking up the snowflakes we made last night, and once we get through some homework, we'll be doing some more Christmas crafting...
Less than a week to go.
apart from the cold it makes me feel quite jealous, love that sculpture of the buildings....and Central Park is...Central Park...and happy birthday Ella

Oh my goodness that looks cold, and reminds me of a feeezing day in Queens when I had my scarf wrapped around my head and still found it unbearable. I like Matt's ear muffs and agree with Steve about Central Park. I feel like I know those rocks well and have taken the kids there myself. That last photo is beautiful of the reflection in the bauble.

Bethan saw the close up shot of Oscar and said "he looks like DAd"!!!! Brought back memories of the few trips we did into NYC. Cool!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun!! If it's any comfort, Oslo is colder... It's been freezing for over a month! Thanks for the lovely homemade Christmas card!
