Learning

I am learning SO much at the moment. About houses, about how to plaster and paint and fix things. About how to sew covers, the anatomy of chairs and how to make curtains. And most of all about how I love to learn these new things. I love to see how things work on the inside and know how to do these things myself.

Do you remember these chairs?
And the matching love seat? Well, that pink was never working for me.
This weekend I managed to squeeze ONE of the chairs into the car to bring back home. And look: I did this all by myself! (this is in our CT house)
The fabric is chanille with texture. It's upholstery grade and was one of my lovely $5/yard finds. I have 3 yards of it and I'm fingers-crossed-hoping that it's enough to do all three. If not, then the love seat will just have to have something different. I added batting to make it a bit softer, and with the dinky little cushion (also one of my finds- this one $10/yard- it's silk) it's a comfy little chair. And it looks SO much prettier. But now I don't know whether to take it back up to VT, or bring them all down here....I'll have to wait until next week to do some more- and make sure I can fit them in the car!!!
