Oscar, my 16 year old, has been taking photography this year. He's been lucky enough to be using my gorgeous old pentax (not that old either) camera. I never get to see the photos he's taken as he has to keep them at school, but today he scanned some at school (there must have been something on the scanner as a few look like they have water marks). Here's some of my favourites:
I love that he really enjoys it. He takes the camera up to VT every weekend with a new roll of film- the top 3 photos are of the house across the road. As I've not got anything to show for myself this week, I thought I'd share his work.
Not that I haven't done anything. I've covered another chair. And I've spent the rest of the week trying to work out how to make a braided rag rug. Totally inspired by this post with that gorgeous rug. As I was ripping apart cushions, I kept wondering what I was going to do with all the fabric I was pulling apart. And then it struck me- recycle it in the most perfectly apt New England way. I have to say that I had a number of abortive starts before I realised how to do it to get a nice flat rug (even after googling it). And while I have enough of a braid for a good sized mat, I really want to make it bigger. And I keep thinking of that wardrobe full of fabric I have sitting up there in VT. I promise to show it once it's done.
I love the one of the window too Osc. They are all so scrummy with the graininess and the contrast is great. Dont ya love being in a darkroom? One of my favourite things.
