Loving the light

It's that time of year....I've been feeling very un halloweeny this year- too much else on my plate, but Ella, (the queen of ghoul) pestered me so we got busy over the weekend. Captain Ugly got brought out of the corner he's been standing in all year, looking remarkably good really- just a few holes in his head which a perfect for rubber rats to climb out of.We had a brilliant weekend actually- the first (and probably last for a while) weekend at home instead of VT. The boys went off to rugby training on Saturday morning. I discovered a gem- the local home decorating fabric store is moving and was having a stash buster sale- I got brilliant gorgeous fabrics for the house in VT dirt cheap. Have already made a few cushions- will be measuring like mad when we go up this weekend to do some curtains etc. (photos to follow). Then on Saturday night Oscar, Matt and I went with friends to another Muse concert on Long Island. Such a great concert, and we were so close to the stage and yet there was plenty of room for jumping around and dancing. Muse is my favourite gym music, so it was great to just be able to get into it and sing along.

And then Sunday we had some friends over for a BBQ- a little mild weather has been lovely. I just love this time of year- the light is superb- especially in the mornings and evenings when it bounces off all the leaves and everything just seems to glow.
Morning photos taken yesterday when there was mist:

Evening photos taken Sunday evening:

Gorgeous.
Another busy week; preparing to go back up to VT for more painting, some more sewing, knitting (I've been commissioned to knit 18 hats for Christmas presents- arg!!!) and there are a few more paintings I have in mind to do. I also want to add a few more things to my etsy store.

Have a great week!!!
