the other photos

I realised yesterday that I hadn't got around to putting up the rest of the photos of the house on the blog although I'd shared these with family. These are from the web listing.

Lounge room:
Barn room with saddle on the balcony balustrade
The bar room
Upstairs
Upstairs bathroom
The rose room...to begin with Remi, Kit and Ella will probably have to sleep in here while the front room has repairs to the dormer window and floor/walls where there was water damage. This may, then, be the first room I attack.
This is the front room which is a lovely little room, but as I said, has some water damage (an an excess of wallpaper and purple walls)
This little room with be Oscars- unfortunately at the moment, the only way to access the rose room is through this bed room. Eventually we want to put a spiral staircase down from the balcony (which opens from the rose room) to the barn room so that this room is no longer a thoroughfare.
The master bath. This room suffers from an excess of toile. I'm not a toile fan, and while I can live with it in SMALL doses, this is just too much.
The master bedroom- has the most gorgeous 4 poster bed- can't wait to strip it of all those pillows.
The downstair lounge again.
And the barn room. That's a GAS, not wood fire in the corner. It is the one big downer about the house- no wood fire. And that couch is a sofa bed too. So in theory the house could sleep 16 people.
Our closing date happens to fall on the same weekend as when I've volunteered to do my wool spinning demonstration for the history society festival, which Matt's bummed about. He wants to have a house warming straight away he says so that everyone can see it as it is before I start to change things...It may take me a while as the kids have NO vacation days in October this year- usually they have at least one long weekend.

They all go back to school tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be able to start being creative again!

  1. It's just huge! I love it! The little chairs on the lounge room wall are cute, and the barn room looks like fun. The toile bathrom is a tad over the top but I like the Marie Antoinette feel. The rose room - now that's over the top!! But, secretly, it's very nostalgic and reminds me of my bedroom when I was little.xx

  2. Now of course the daughter of her Dad should easily be able to produce a plan of the residence...not only to help her Dad but possibly the rest of the hordes who are trying to work it all out.
    love
