GORGEOUS weather. On Friday Oscar went into the city and walked over the Brooklyn Bridge. He's doing this fantastic subject called "humanities" where they are studying cities and public spaces- they have 3 field trips into the city for the day. I am jealous. I want to do it.
Saturday Oscar played rugby in Manhattan (2 trips in 2 days!) at Randall's Island on the northern tip. Matt caught the team bus in with the boys- I stayed home with the others (boo hoo). They played a private school with a very successful rugby record and won! They're on a bit of a high after that one. Sunday Remi played his first game in the "travel team"- I got him a lift as it was an hour away at 5:30 pm!!! They lost, but it was their first game as a team and their coach wasn't able to make it to the game.
I spent the weekend FINALLY sorting and tidying my studio. Hasn't been done since Mum stayed here in OCTOBER!!! I just haven't really used it. I moved Kit and Ella's desk up there so now I have a painting table in front of the window with lots of natural light. The desk wasn't getting much use in the bedroom and it made it so cramped in there. Of course, the moment I started tidying, I was swamped with ideas of things I want to make/ paint/ sew/ dye/ carve/ stamp etc etc. Now I just have to find the time to do them all!!!! Fortunately Ella is going to stay home today (as she's not well) so I have an excuse to get into my studio which she watches movies... It's a RAINY day too. Massive thunderstorms came through last night. Perfect excuse. Too sticky to do housework.
And one little water colour I did manage to finish this weekend...
Oh a desire to explore places...so you may have inherited a bit of planner...or perhaps Oscar is just getting ready to take over the role as the planner in the family, given that the last one seems to have moved on
ReplyDeleteyes, you should never do housework if there's a 'y' in the day...
