So then we went out to the mall for a while then went to see Alice in Wonderland in 3D. It was a great movie, but I really feel like I need to watch it again to decide if it was a brilliant movie. It's ALWAYS (since I was a child and had my Dad's copy of Alice in Wonderland) been a favourite story of mine. I know The Jabberwocky by heart (I had to learn it in grade 12). Definitely worth seeing though- although I don't know that it's important to see it in 3D. It astounded me how many movies are coming out in 3D now- is this the future of movies??? Those glasses make my eyes hurt.
Not sure what we will do today, but it has FINALLY stopped raining. It's still very windy, but I have got my washing machine to work, so I guess I'll be drying as much as I can out on the line. I had to go and buy Ella fresh knickers yesterday as ALL her clean washing (that she hadn't taken up from the basement yet) got wet and she had NONE left to wear. And while I'm happy that we have another day off school- it means that the kids will finish school over a week late this year. That's how many snow days and er um "repair days" they've had off.
update: I was driving around doing some errands today and there are still power lines and trees down outside some of the schools. The damage is incredible. I can honestly say that we had no idea either that it was coming, nor that it was so bad when it was here. We are very exposed here on the water and so lucky we didn't have trees come down on the house! If you want to have a sticky beak have a look at one of the local papers

There's a slide show showing some of the damage.
My goodness, I just looked at the Stamford paper. I had no idea it was that dramatic. You guys were really lucky there on the pond; maybe you were a bit sheltered from the wind?
