Well the rain has stopped for one day at least...not enough sun to dry out the fields which means that Oscar's rugby match has been cancelled for this afternoon. I haven't worked out if I like the rain or not...it's more like English drizzle. But it's meant no soccer or rugby training all week, which means my evenings are less hectic, but it also means that the soccer and rugby players haven't had an outlet for the pent up testosterone laden energy-hmmm.
On Monday night we had Kit's band/chorus concert. That child is perfect as a degenerate drummer (no offense intended, Dad). For years I've been going to Oscar and Remi's band concerts and I always notice that the drummers are the last to get organised and somehow, hiding up the back there, they think that they can't be seen. In Kit's beginner band they are down to 2 drummers and they sat up the back while the orchestras were playing using their drum sticks as violin and bow and playing along too! But then they also got to play in the advanced band where there are also only 2 drummers. He's improved heaps-something I was completely unaware of as he never practices at home. ( he's to the left of the bass drum)
Then the chorus (choir) sang. Kit loves this and his singing has improved heaps since he started. And he's always fun to watch. (he's in the 2nd row from the front to the right of the kid with the suit)A lot of fun. I've got Remi's band concert there next week and then we start up with all the ballet tech and dress rehearsals until the real thing at the end of May. At least we can do it all in the rain!
And all I've wanted to do on these rainy days is sew. I took my machine in yesterday and there's a part on back order, so I don't know when I'll get it back. I had to go with the flow (go with the sew) and do some hand sewing instead. For some reason, when I feel in the mood for something, it grips me and I just have to do it. So I made this little...???...not sure what really.
I love trees and this fabric has been calling to me to do this with it for a while. ( I started a bag which is similar, when my sewing machine packed it in) I might turn it into a cushion, or maybe just make a little wall hanging. It was fun and I got to catch up on watching some TV shows which I haven't done in ages. I think it's so nice sometimes just to be in my own company. So I have to enjoy those days when I can. I THINK I have the sewing bug out of me so I can resume regular functioning.

Not much of a dig Snork, drummers get used to that sort of stuff, but anyway if you think he takes his time getting organized with one drum wait until he gets his first kit, there will of course need to be serious discussions when we get to that important stage...but it is good that at least two of my grand children, so far at least understand and appreciate the joy of drumming.
