Yesterday we were treated to a GORGEOUS day-26C, sun, simply wonderful. Remi had a soccer game in the morning which I willingly took him too-any excuse to sit out in the sun.
Even though I had many many inside jobs that needed doing, it was just too nice of a day to miss (and who knows when we will have another like it-certainly not this week). So I started clearing out last years vegetable garden and turning over the soil. I also dug a new herb garden along the side of the BBQ patio-and moved the herbs that had survived from last year in there. Herb gardens are my favourite type of gardens, and where the vegetable garden is, it's not in full sun (yeah, I made the mistake of digging it before all the leaves came out). This new herb garden is in full sun and when we sit out to eat (which we do all summer) we will have the lovely herbs to smell (I also put in some lavender).
And this weekend the tulips decided to join the daffodils and come out to play.I adore spring flowers.
Happy dog
Wresting boys with new freckles on their faces
Bare feet
Icypoles after working hard in the gardenAnd we sat out and cooked dinner on the BBQ and got to watch the sun go down.
Today the wind has picked up and we are in for rain for the next 4 days. Matt's driven Oscar and some other boys in the team out to New Jersey to play rugby. Remi's taking it easy as his legs are "killing him" after the first soccer game of the season and dancing at the school dance on Friday night, and Ella has a friend over and she and her friend, with Kit, are out wandering around in the yard. Lovely Sunday. Me, I'm having a breather and trying to get through the washing- last week was so busy with various school/historical society commitments and this week is shaping up to be more of the same.
Hope you had a good weekend!
Marvellous what some lovely sunshine and relaxation can do. Put those veggies in so I can feast on them when I come over. mum xx
