Gobble gobble

We had some feathered visitors yesterday...I had been wondering why Honey was sitting at the door whining.  When I went to let her out I saw these 5 wild turkeys in our yard.  One male with his little harem of 4.
As soon as they saw us they were off through the neighbour's yard.  Honey was beside herself and tried to chase them (she chases the Canada Geese out of our yard all the time).  While I have seen them other places about town before, I've never seen them around our house.

Have they finished the place out the back yet? Looks as though it is getting close at least.

  2. i think that the male turkey is so ugly...four birds in his harem hey???must have something going for him.... As a child we raised a few turkey's but only ever kept the old male who lived to a ripe old age but the hens turned up as christmas dinner all the time.... i like turkey to eat...yummm...guess being wild they might be a bit tough though....and then there is the killing the cleaning and the disposal of the waste from all of the above...Yucko...thats why they sell it in the supermarket i guess!!!!!
