She was an American girl

Today was our big trip into the American girl doll store. Ella was so excited, was so looking forward to it (as was Lucy of course). We went with my friend Elise (another Aussie) and her daughters Mia and Hannah to celebrate (very belatedly) Mia's birthday. Mia got her doll and then we went up stairs for brunch at the cafe.Ella got an new outfit for Lucy and a pair of glasses for her.We had a lovely brunch in the cafe. It's all so girly and cute...right down to the fruit sticks, pink lemonade...and the desert...a flower pot filled with chocolate mousse and a plastic daisy sticking out.And here is my dear friend Elise who makes my life here so lovely. After brunch we hung around so Lucy could get an "extreme makeover"-cleaned up and her hair done at the doll hair salon. We didn't do the full thing with ear piercing.I think this must be the best job in the world. Playing with dolls' hair and chatting with little firls all day.

As we were walking back to Grand Central there was a Polish parade up 5th Ave. I love NY. You never know what you'll see.

We came back to Matt and Elise's hubby, Ragnar, having had a big BBQ and organised dinner. We sat out in the cold night air. What a wonderful Sunday...I'm exhausted after a day in the city; I always am after all the hustle and bustle, but what a great day.

But did you get in the Art Deco exhibition?
And I never realised playing with firls was so exciting.

You look like you both had a wonderful time! And obviously Lucy did too with her makeover. I couldn't believe that beauty salon when I saw it last year, and you're right, those staff look like they are having the best time!
