leaves

So I was feeling a little guilty for posting without photos before and I thought I'd just pop out to take a few pics before the kids came home from school. I mean, look at this colour-gorgeous.
The gardeners had been today and blown all of the leaves into a HUGE pile. A huge pile of DRY, CRISP leaves. I enticed Honey in by throwing a stick and as soon as she got the feel for jumping through the leaves, she was running and rolling and hiding and generally having fun.
Then Oscar came and was rolling around in the leaves with Honey, burying himself and her.
Then Oscar decided to bury himself totally and wait for Kit and Ella to get off the school bus. I wish I'd caught Kit's expression when Oscar burst out of the leaves at him, but I was too busy killing myself laughing.
Then it was a free for all with the 3 of them (Remi had after school sports training). You can see how deep the leaves are-that's Oscar sitting up straight.Culminating with Oscar showing us his swimming strokes in the leaves....Until Honey discovered the dead squirrel in the leaf stack and everyone came running out squealing! Fortunately it was a very old and dried out dead (baby) squirrel, so they weren't covered in squirrel mush. But doesn't Honey look pleased with herself!

How funny! That was a lovely afternoon jaunt for you all. I'm glad Oscar isn't too much of a teenager to still romp in the leaves!!

  2. loving all the pics. So funny that Osc hid in the leaves. Osc is looking so handsome lately too. Really growing into himself. And that Ella belly!!! She is growing taller and taller!!!!

  3. I know Chels; we have a problem with Ella at the moment- all her long T-shirts are really short in the waist, but she wants to still wear them. And Osc has been loosing weight-he's swim training 4-5 times a week and rugby training 2 times a week. And he's growing. Always so tired and hungry!!!!

Honey has all the luck. We never find dead squirrels.
