I'm still here

Just.
As anticipated, it's been a busy start to the year. And for the next week or so it will be the same until we get into the groove. There are actually days this week when I'm not sure when I can make dinner...hmmm...

Apart from school, activities, and "meetings", we've been dodging hurricanes, and putting up with no hot water-again. Actually the "hurricane" wasn't as bad as we had prepared for, and the hot water will hopefully get fixed today. So not all as bad as I make it sound.

The kids actually had a great time in Hurricane Hanna's rains. It's not often that we get rain without lightning when it's warm here. This time there was no lighting and no wind (? go figure?). Just lots of rain to break the warm and muggy weather. The kids and Honey went out in the rain, rolling around in puddles and doing slip and slides on the lawn. Loads of fun for them. Very messy though and they had to be hosed off afterwards.

They all seem to be settling in to school really well. Oscar is loving High School, especially now that he's rugby team mates with all the older boys. And he made the swim team, so starting next week he'll be swimming 4-5 times a week as well as the rugby training. The good thing about the swimming; it's walking distance for him, so most of the time I don't need to be getting him there and back.

And I met with Kit's new teacher yesterday and she is so wonderful. Very young, but TOTALLY on top of it all with Kit. Really put my mind at ease, and I think this year will be so much better for him than last year.

So we're chugging along. I'm getting in a bit of knitting when I can-two things on the go, and a couple of ideas forming in my head. There's a quilt "incubating" upstairs on my studio floor-very early stages. But for now, at least it, will be a while before I have any new completed projects to share.

It DOES sound busy. Good to get feedback about the kids' new school year though. I'm sure you are relieved about young Kit's teacher, and it's great that Osvar is having such a good start to the year. He'll be super fit! But, I couldn't work out how you can have a hurricane without wind; I guess it was the tail end? Have fun.
