And now to my 2nd blogiversary give away. I know it didn't all come together as I had hoped (I'm 2 days late), but I was having issues with my sewing machine. I don't mind sewing, but I find it very stressful when I have issues with bobbins, tension etc. The sewing machine I have is usually brilliant and automatically adjusts tension (otherwise there is no way I would have contimplated making quilts) but it just hasn't been playing fair lately.
I digress. This is a shopping bag made from fused plastic shopping bags. It is the same on the front and on the back. It is something I've been wanting to play around with forever and I have even been forgoing my own green recycling bags at the supermarket to collect some of these "recycle me" bags (is that wrong?). It was fun to make, but much harder than I had anticipated. I still have some work to do to get it right. It should be fairly strong (it's 6 layers of plastic bag and all the seams are double stitched), but I'm not sure if I'd trust it to a sack of potatoes or 2 big cartons of milk.
Any ho, if you would like to have this little statement for your trips to the store, just leave a comment and I'll draw a name randomly and announce the winner on Monday.
It would be far nicer if it had a map of Australia on it, or is that on the other side?
