a mixed bag
Look at these fantastic "shoes" that Ella made the other day. Aren't they just gorgeous? Oh yeah and her LONG legs.
She's such a sweetie (I still can't get rid of that splodge on my lens...drives me nuts).
Speaking of going nuts; the heat has made us all a little crazy lately...including Leila who was trying to squeeze herself into this too small box yesterday.
I was quite happy to go up to the highschool for ballet rehersals, for some air conditioned relief.
We also had a lovely (cool) dinner for Oscar's birthday celebration and then last night a huge thunderstorm helped to clear the air a little.
Today I had to go and watch more flag waving at school. This time Kit's grade had been doing assignments where they were given a president and had to create a re election campagne for them.
There was singing and recorder playing and then in groups they had their campagne stations. We were supposed to walk around and listen to them all, but it was so noisy and so hot and my back is still so sore, that I couldn't put up with it all for long.
I was amused by one of the campagne slogans on Kit's group's poster "JFK supports green peas!" - one of the boys had written it down from Kit's accent saying "green peace"(they got to make up whatever they wanted...JFK was supporting both guns and animal rights....hmmm...I have doubts about the educational value of this exercise.)
Car's airconditioner gets fixed tomorrow which is lucky as Matt and I are driving out to Jone's Beach on Saturday night for an R E M concert. Should be fun as long as my back holds out and we're not all too exhausted from the ballet concert in the afternoon. I may have to sneak in another trip to the chiropractor in the morning as I don't think I can wait until Tuesday for my next appointment. (Moan, moan, I know, but I can't do ANYTHING!!!-all that housework from last week has just dissappeared...and it even hurts to shout at the kids to get them to pick up all their stuff they leave EVERYWHERE!!!)
