Not sure what has brought on this bout of blogapathy...maybe it's the totally inconsistant weather we've been having: rainy and cold one day, sunny and warm the next. Although, actually, there has probably been a lot more of the rainy and cold. I feel my mood has become totally dependent on the weather. The 10 minutes spent at the bus stop with the kids in the morning determines whether I feel happy and carefree or like locking myself indoors. On those yucky, dark, rainy days, I have at least been knitting...finally tackling the sleeves on my cardigan I designed and knit last year...even putting on the sleeveless cardi when I get too cold.
And I've been watching more movies. Two of my favourites: The Painted Veil, and Children of Men. I watched Children of Men yesterday and just can't get it out of my head. So much to think about with that movie. A brilliant movie...swearing and guns, yes, but it is so worth watching.
And when the sun does come out, I've been gardening. Digging and planting; some veggies and herbs, but lots of lovely flowers. Every time I go to the supermarket, I can't help but come home with a pack of 6 flowers-so cheap at $5, or at least I think so. And planting already grown flowers should at least stop my stupid gardeners pulling EVERYTHING out like they did last year. I have noticed that they don't touch my garden now. These are the days Honey loves best, she runs around sniffing all the deer and rabbit tracks, chasing the squirrels while I garden.
Today...it's sunny and will get up to 20C. An outside day definitely! I have to make the most of them at the moment.
there's a thick blanket of fog covering Hobart right now... its very weird. But I must be chirpy today, it's Bethans party, my parents are coming... and I have mastitis again! I know what you mean about the weather though!
ReplyDeleteBlogapathy.... should be in the dictionary.

Thanks George, I read The Children of Men a year or so ago and meant to see the movie & didn't get around to it, so I will get the DVD out now and compare. I found the book fascinating too - but a very different read from most of PD James' work. Will also look at the other one! mumxx
