I also worked heaps on this quilt which is being made as a thank you and farewell for Ella's student teacher. Ella's teacher really wanted to give her a quilt and wanted the kids to decorate a panel each. I offered to sew it all up, thinking they would be small squares, but they are A4 sized rectangles...made it difficult to find some kind of dimension that worked. I bought the coloured pieces of fabric on sale, and I think it works better than having all the drawings next to each other.

I've done the bottom half, but I'm waiting on 3 extra pieces (as there were kids out sick) in order to finish it. I used all sorts of scraps of fabric pieced together on the back...it's bright and colourful at least, but hardly contrived and thought out. I hope she likes it anyway.

I have Ella home with me today. Thankfully the vomitting has stopped and she's actually been able to eat something today. I'm so glad we've got another short week! Hopefully I can get the quilt finished asap as I have so much cleaning to do before we have our big Thanksgiving lunch in 2 weeks.
But where is the important stuff...what has Honey been doing?

Oh, what a beautiful gesture for this very lucky student teacher. It's gorgeous. Tell my grandchildren do all do some drawings on bits of material so I can have one too!
