Rain

We've had a few really hot and humid days-yesterday it bucketed down most of the day, today it's foggy with thunderstorms forcast. So what to do with a puppy who's not house trained? I spent a lot of time standing in the rain yesterday...in between watching a movie.

Actually we've watched a few movies lately...we did a Harry Potter marathon the other day watching movies 1-4 in one day. Ella's been walking around in her 'invisibility cloak' ever since and even wore it to her play date yesterday. Actually with the movie watching I've been doing some knitting. I'm making a little poncho for Ella using a ripple pattern out of my 200 ripple patterns book. I've never attempted a pattern like this before, but it's only a 2 row repeat, so I have actually found it quite easy. I won't even try to take photos of it until we get a little bit of sun!

Fortunately it fined up enough for us to sit out for a little bit in the dog pen with the puppy. All the neighbours' dogs come down to play with her.

Remi plays with her heaps. He's really good with her.

Kit just wanted to pose with his bow and arrow (a stick and a cricket wicket)...just after this I sent him up to clean his room (for the 20th time this week) and he fell fast asleep on the floor. When I went to bed (late for me) at 11.30 pm he was STILL awake. Crazy holiday routine.

Oscar's been out at the Hamptons since Sunday and is due back today. I miss him when he's not around as he's good company but only when he's not being a mopy 13 year old. Hopefully he'll come home in a good mood (but I won't hold my breath!).

Still deciding whether or not to take the kids to a Harry Potter release party on Friday night. I ordered my book ages ago, but I keep thinking that this is such a once in a life time kind of event, that it might be really fun to be there for the midnight countdown. But then, I don't know whether we'd go to the huge Barnes and Noble one, or the one at the local wonderful little bookshop who I really like to support...hmmm...

Definitely have the 'once in a lifetime ' experience, it will be well worth it, if you can all stay awake. You'll probably enjoy it most of all. I'm glad the puppy novelty hasn't worn off yet...
