I've been wanting to have a go dyeing with Kool Aid for a while. And when I saw packs in the supermarket for 10c each, I stocked up. For the Aussies: Kool Aid is a powder which is just colour and flavour-you have to add the sugar yourself.

Dyeing with it was SOOOOO easy...a lb of wool per packet, soak the wool first, mix the Kool Aid with water, add wool to the Kool Aid mix and microwave for 2 minutes at a time until the water is mostly clear. And then rinse, to get rid of the smells and excess dye.

The red was mixed berry, the pink was watermelon, orange was orange, blue was iced raspberry, and the green was iced lime. I can't wait to spin them up...not sure if I should mix the colours or just spin them separately.

I actually feel quite overwhelmed by the amount of fleece I have to spin at the moment....I really should get a spinning wheel!
