Yesterday was
Remi's graduation or "moving up" ceremony at school. A whole 2 hours of it. The kids all got various certificates for things they've participated in over the year.
Remi got one for advanced band, one for gold
achievement in gym, and one for being a "gold key" student (this is a post they get chosen for by the teachers...they have to be seen as responsible, and they have jobs they do around the school like collecting
attendance sheets etc...). They sang some songs, talked about their memories of school or their aspirations for the future (most of the kids said "when I grow up I hope to be rich"...
although there were a few "I hope to cure cancer"s and
Remi's was "to get a scholarship to study to help
preserve endangered species of birds"-of course!). It was good though. They also had a slide show with photos of the kids playing and music over the top which they presented to the kids at the end.
It was FREAKING ME OUT!!! watching them sing as
Remi just reminds me so much of my brother Jake...they way he moves when he's singing. They've spent very little time together, and
Remi doesn't really look like him in the face, but the mannerisms!
WOA! It's just amazing.
Here he is standing next to our neighbour...they both happen to be the shortest in the grade. S
And they all got fancy blue ribbons to wear.
