graveyard

On Sunday, before we left Chelsea took us to an old graveyard in town with the coolest old tombs. It was cold, so the kids didn't last long, but I could have stayed for hours photographing the headstones in amongst the pine trees.
We particularly liked the blue sign at the entrance to the graveyard. And here's Chels lining the girls up for a photo. The whole trip was like this; either her or me...

The grave vault above was covered in little blue flowers. Bethan looks like she's having a moment of silence by it, but she was really just trying to hide her face from the cold.

The kids were so cold afterwards that we drove into town and found an open cafe for some hot chocolates. Ithaca is such a great little town. It really reminds me of Tasmania...maybe it's the University influence. But after Sydney and this part of CT, it was so great to be in a funky little artsy town, being surrounded by casual laid back people. We're really keen to go back again and see it in all its summer glory.

Some people live in funky, arty towns all the time, with really important Aussie rivers and vineyards as well, with very casual laid back types all around.
