Clock tower

On Saturday morning Dave and Chelsea took us to Cornell to the clock tower. We climbed up to the top and had fantastic views out over the campus.

It was cold up the top! Just down on the top level of the tower, where the clock was, was the instrument for playing the bells. We got to watch a "concert" with the girl playing a number of songs. It was quite remarkable. Here's Rem on the instrument. And the music.

A pensive Ella.
The clock from the inside.

The boys warming up on a vent in that gorgeous criss-crossed quadrangle. And a silly photo with a sculpture.

Mr. Ezra Cornell with us all (except photographer Chelsea and Hattie on her back). It was the first time I'd ever been on an American campus and it was just amazing how big it was. It's high up on the hill overlooking the town and the lake. From the other side of the lake it's a sprawling mass of mis-matched buildings sitting on top of the hill, but when you're up there looking down it's fantastic.

How interesting to see Cornell University. Is David studying or teaching there?
