A Glimpse
I've knitted and spun myself out a bit and have returned to my other love...paper. I amuse myself with how excited I get with paper. Matt thinks I'm mad. I'm actually really feeling like making some...it's been ages since I have and I have been saving onion and garlic skins and corn husks since we got here. But I'm not quite set up to make some at the moment and I'm loathe to blunt the blades in the new blender. I should really be taking advantage of the gorgeous weather we've been having, but I'm sure the moment I even think about it the weather will change.
So here is a glimpse of the project...it has actually come out of a need to fill a wall space behind the couch. So I guess it is "designer" art rather than real art, but I've been thinking about it for a while now, and I'm happy to be trying something different.

THAT IS FREAKIN AWESOME!... Holy cow!!! Are they all your own handmade papers???? Utterly gorgeous George, I cant wait to see it when we get there...
ReplyDeleteNo, unfortunately not all my own papers...I wish. There is some of mine in there, but it's mostly just stuff I have collected over the years. I had an idea for a big chinese coin kind of painting for our lounge, but I didn't want to just paint it. So I'm waiting for stuff to arrive to make a canvas the right size...I'm glad to get some positive feedback. Matt said "I don't really get it".
ReplyDeleteHave you been able to incorporate the rice paper from Soeul or is it too fragile? The colours are fabulous! Can't wait to see the finsihed product. That's why Matt's the lawyer and you're the artistic one!
