Apologies

To my family for not posting again before this. Kit is in fact fine now. It seems that it was all brought on by a feverr associated with some virus. He had two days off school and Oscar had one. Kit was so miserable that I had to sit with him constantly...couldn't do anything. In fact this was my big week at school...Tuesday I was supposed to help in the library, Tuesday night to go to a mums get together for Ella's class and Wednesday to do welcome desk. I missed all of them.

Fortunately they were both back at school yesterday so I was able to go swimming.

I joined the YMCA about 2 weeks ago and I've been trying to go swimming at least 3 times a week. But with all the days off the kids have had it's actually only been 2 days a week so far. I am SO SLOW when I swim, but I do love it. After 6 months of doing very little exercise, my body is in such bad shape that swimming is about all I can do. Even though my knee is still playing up, it doesn't worry it when I swim. So swim I do. I started out only being able to swim for 40 minutes and that was mainly doing breast stroke, but yesterday I swam for a full hour and I did 30 continuous laps of freestyle, plus I do 10 breast, 10 free to break it up while I swim. I just love the kind of dream like state I get into when I swim. I have tried to concentrate on making my stroke more effective (usually as some pensioner is overtaking me), but when I do, I loose that sense of meditation. So I'm happy to just plod along.

And what do I think about when I'm trying to keep count of my laps? There is a blue nude painting which is slowly revealing itself to me, especially when I am doing breastroke and look through all that water. And I think about what to post on my blog. I seem to spend more time thinking about it, composing the words in my head than I actually do writing it. And all those eloquent words that exist in my thoughts slip through my fingers the moment I start typing. I do love that I get to prioritise what is important to me to share with others.

And these posts that I speak of? Well I may get around to it today. I do have to go into to Kit's class later and I want to try and fit in a swim. Then this afternoon the kids all have things on.

And while I have been trying to upload some David Hockney paintings of swimming pools and water for this blog, blogger is not co operating. But if you could just picture the way he paints water while you are reading this, I would be very happy.

That's a relief about Kit and I'm so glad you are getting into the swimnming. Does the Y offer other classes as well - aerobics etc??
